一、會議背景
全球交通部門正面臨著類似的挑戰，碳中和、氣候變化、節能、技術進步將對未來的可持續交通和出行模式產生革命性和重大的影響。因此，交通運輸部門的脫碳將有助于為每個人創造一個更清潔、更健康和更可持續的未來。本次論壇將聚焦綠色交通發展的政策行動、新技術和創新方法，交流清潔低碳交通新系統。論壇將討論世界各地，特別是美國和中國的城市在設計和實施低碳交通政策和路徑方面的經驗和研究。
本次會議將回顧自2018年1月中國公路學會和美國交通運輸研究會簽署諒解備忘錄以來，兩組織開展的合作。這也是一個加強雙邊合作，并討論如何解決交通運輸面臨的關鍵全球問題的機會。
在此背景下，中國公路學會和美國交通運輸研究會將繼續在中美與其他國際合作組織之間開展知識交流，并通過共享交通研究者和實踐者的綠色交通發展實踐和經驗，促進可持續發展目標(SDGs)的實現。
